[Phoenix Reign] has three members with Greek last names and the origin of their band's creation here, but are based in Astoria, New York. The front cover has Constantine Paleologos, and it is one of the most epic covers of recent years, but it does not identify with one strict musical style, if that is the assumtion that you are making. Their heavy material is themeticaly Greek-centric, powerful, exciting and they deserve more production tools, perhaps a more current sound. With Theresa as a vocalist (who does not sound like a pre madonna) , their sound gains a comercial dimension, but they are hard enough as a band to avoid any easy criticism. They are actually a pleasent surprise, and they become especially interesting when they combine tzoura and kanunaki. And to make myself clear, my proposal to review them has nothing to do with their origin.
